David Moss

È Visiting Fellow presso la School of Cultural Inquiry, Australian National University, a Canberra e Presidente del Centro Australasiano di Studi Italiani (ACIS). Dal 2002 al 2010 è stato Professore ordinario di Antropologia Culturale all'Università di Milano. Le sue ricerche sulla società e sulla politica italiana comprendono: pastorizia e banditismo in Sardegna, clientelismo e corruzione, risposte all'HIV-Aids, violenza politica, e la vita e la morte di Aldo Moro. Tra le sue pubblicazioni figurano The Politics of Left-Wing Violence in Italy, 1969-1985 (1989), Action on AIDS: National Policies in Comparative Perspective (1990), Italy under the Southern Cross (2011) ‘The gift of repentance: a Maussian perspective on twenty years of pentitismo in Italy’ (Archives européennes de sociologie, 2001, XLII, 2, 297-331) e ‘When patronage meets meritocracy: or, the Italian academic concorso as cockfight’, Archives européennes de sociologie  LIII (2012), 2, pp.205-231. Attualmente sta preparando una raccolta di articoli sull'autobiografiaTerra matta e un'introduzione all'antropologia sociale.

David Moss is Visiting Fellow in the School of Cultural Inquiry at the Australian National University in Canberra and Chair of the Australasian Centre for Italian Studies. He was Professor of Cultural Anthropology at the University of Milan from 2002 until 2010. His research on Italian politics and society includes studies of pastoralism and banditry in Sardinia, patronage and corruption, responses to HIV-AIDS, political violence, and the life and death of Aldo Moro. He is currently working on a study of the autobiography Terra matta and an introduction to social anthropology.
